So all those parodies of B-movies that start with a pair of teens necking in a convertible at make-out point when suddenly they’re interrupted by a thing from another world? I knew they were poking fun at something in particular, and that something is a red, pulsating, man-eating glob of space-slime.

Steve McQueen plays Steve, and it’s the age-old story of boy necks with girl, boy meets blob, boy tells local authorities about blob, no one believes boy, blob wreaks havoc.

I haven’t seen many classic B monster movies, but they’re always a lot of fun. As for things from another world, The Thing From Another World is a particular favourite.

And who doesn’t love Steve McQueen? He’s undeniably cool in pretty much everything he does. Captured by Nazis? No problem! Mexican banditos? Piece of cake! State of the art glass skyscraper on fire? Don’t make me laugh!

Watching a big round unstoppable eating machine hasn’t been this enjoyable since Dom DeLuise was still making films (I’m just teasing, Dom, Cannonball Run is tha bomb).
