Shawshank Redemption is based on a novella by Stephen King titled Rita Hayworth shows the life story of a talented banker, Andy Dufresne ( Tim Robbins ). He was accused of murdering his wife and her lover and sentenced to life in Shawshank prison. At first, Andy does not cope too well. Beaten and molested by brutal fellow prisoners, he is close to breaking down, However, the situation changes dramatically when he meets Red ( Morgan Freeman ). Andy accepts his current fate and starts living his prison life perfectly, winning the friendship of a group of prisoners gathered around Red ( Morgan Freeman ). The new life in prison walls turns out to have its charms, but Andy wants to regain the freedom that was wrongly taken from him at all costs.
